why don’t we get UK cbd?

we actually grow loads of hemp in but weirdly it’s illegal to process the flower (which contains the highest amount of cbd)

this means if we send our hemp flower to Europe – get it made into an oil & sent back it would be a legal product.

but…. if you took the SAME flower and processed it into an oil in jolly old , you would now have an illegal product.

cbd for pets, is it safe? ⁠

the simple answer is yes⁠ ⁠

however, there are a couple of important things you should know…⁠ ⁠

1) you should never give your pet any cbd product with more than 0.3% thc!⁠ ⁠ hemp-derived cbd products, however, can help pets and appears safe⁠ ⁠ animals, like humans, have an endocannabinoid system that is capable of interacting with chemical compounds found in cannabinoids like cbd⁠ ⁠ it can help dogs and cats who suffer with hyperactivity and other conditions such as:⁠ – anxiety⁠ – seizures⁠ – arthritis ⁠ – inflammation⁠ ⁠

2) you must also know what the right dosage is⁠ ⁠ when it comes to your pet the most important thing to remember is to use smaller doses than what’s recommended on the packaging⁠ ⁠ finding the right dosage of cbd in treats, capsules, & tinctures for your dog or cat will involve some exploration. There are some important factors to consider, these are:⁠

1) Your pet’s size⁠

2) Your pet’s age⁠

what to look for on cbd lab reports pt 1

when it comes to technical data these things can always be confusing so here are some pointers for looking at reports: ⁠
⁠
1⃣ the first test you are going to look at is the Certificate of Analysis or Authenticity (CoA)⁠
⁠
this will tell you how much of each cannabinoid is in your product.⁠
⁠
to find the lab report you can scan the QR code on a pack using your phone – or go on the website where it will be clearly labelled.⁠
⁠
you will see that the product has been signed off which means its passed (phew)⁠
⁠
2⃣ next thing is the %w/w which means weight in weight – which is a technical term of saying how many grams are in 100g of product⁠
⁠
so if it says:⁠
⁠
1 %w/w that means there will be 1g (1000mg) of CBD in 100g of product.⁠
⁠
that means in a 1g of the product there will be 10mg of cbd.⁠
⁠
so if the edible you had was 5g total per piece you would be having 50mg of cbd.⁠
⁠

is cbd flower legal? ⁠⁠
well it’s a little bit complicated, as there’s two views on the legality of it…leaving it in a grey area⁠
⁠
cbd dry flower products from hemp are legally categorised the same way as cannabis. ⁠
⁠
possessing any part of cannabis and hemp plants remains illegal in the UK when you don’t have a special license to grow them.⁠
⁠
for the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, it remains illegal to cultivate cannabis (a controlled drug) and is therefore illegal to possess any part of the cannabis plant.⁠
⁠
this means that even though hemp flowers may fit into the legal THC limit for CBD products (less than 0.3%) and is also non-psychoactive; since they are considered to be part of the cannabis plant, they are illegal. ⁠
⁠
however, this grey area remains because, the law can be interpreted in a different way….⁠
⁠
as the flower is not being processed into an extract and is being kept its original form – it remains legal in the UK as it fits all the criteria relating to legal cbd products.⁠
⁠
If you prefer to smoke your cbd over edibles – it can be a useful product as its packed with cbd, cbg, supporting cannabinoids and terpenes which initiates the entourage effect⁠
⁠
just make sure if you do choose to make this purchase of a ‘grey area’ product you are buying from a reputable source that can trace where the flower has come from and that it has been tested.

in part 1 we looked at the COA and how to find it. we are now going to look at the rest of the COA and also other reports – terpenes, heavy metals and microbial ⁠

what you want to notice on this COA is the presence of other cannabinoids which is great as it indicates its broad or full spectrum with the broad spectrum confirmed with the non-detectable amount of thc.⁠

terpenes are really important for supporting your cbd. Like varieties of most plants, hemp also has different terpenes that give different effects – like happiness, anti-inflammation or relaxation. ⁠
⁠
therefore we want to see the terpenes match with the effect we want – we have and will be making more videos about this ⁠

with heavy metals and microbial tests – make check that these are passed which means an absence of, or an acceptable level in the sample.⁠

legal vs illegal edibles – 3 things to look out for!

a letter sent to parents about edibles (attached) which could be confusing to a consumer as many reputable companies selling cbd legally.

if you are new to cbd want to feel the benefits and may be confused as to what’s legal online… here are three things to look out for:

thc edibles sold online usually have gimmicky names which relate closely to the original product – like in this example STONED PATCH rather than SOUR PATCH. CALIBO rather than HARIBO brand.

cbd products will clearly label how much cbd is in the product and in each piece

they won’t have a website for you to check the product validity and reports as legal CBD edible products need to be tested in the UK

if you can ONLY pay via Bitcoin or another cryptocurrency that should raise a red flag for you to double check the validity of the product
